Naval Electroplating Systems
Naval Electroplating Solutions
Naval operations require electroplating solutions that meet the unique challenges of submarine and surface vessel maintenance. ElectroplatingUSA's Leak Free® Brush Electroplating Systems are specifically designed to address the critical requirements of naval applications, drawing from our founder's direct experience establishing and managing the electroplating department at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Purpose-Built for Naval Environments
Our Leak Free® systems were developed by a retired mechanical engineer who started the electroplating department at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 2011, served as electroplating supervisor, and later managed the Mockup and 3D Printing Center. This background provided firsthand understanding of naval electroplating challenges, leading to the development of our patented technology (US 11,352,710 B2).
The compact design addresses the specific challenge of submarine access. The Ultima model, weighing 35 pounds and housed in a crush-proof polypropylene case, passes through submarine hatches less than 30 inches in diameter. This capability enables on-site repairs without component removal, a critical advantage identified during our founder's naval shipyard experience.
Addressing Naval Maintenance Challenges
During development at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, traditional electroplating methods created significant challenges. Electrolyte-dipped anodes could not hold solution effectively, gravity caused slow leakage, and pumping solutions required catching excess to prevent contamination. When operators worked on overhead components, extensive personal protection equipment and coverage were needed to protect from dripping solutions.
Our Leak Free® technology eliminates these problems through a dual-system design. The delivery system uses a peristaltic pump to supply solution to the anode handle from the solution chamber. The suction system employs a vacuum pump ejector powered by compressed air that captures excess solution and returns the air-solution mixture to the chamber.
Three System Configurations
Naval operations benefit from our range of system sizes designed for different requirements. ElectroplatingUSA offers three different sizes of Leak Free® Brush Plating Systems to meet various requirements. The Ultima model accommodates up to six different plating solutions, weighing just 35 lb. and compact enough to fit through tight spaces such as submarine hatches. The Noble model supports two plating solutions and weighs only 18 lb., while the Select model handles one plating solution and weighs just 5 lb. All units are encased in heavy-duty rollover Polypropylene watertight, crush-proof cases, ensuring durability and portability.
Enhanced Safety for Naval Personnel
The leak-free operation addresses critical safety concerns identified through naval shipyard experience. Traditional methods created risks from solution dripping and required extensive masking and sealing procedures. Our technology eliminates these hazards by containing all plating solution within the closed system.
Operators no longer need to spend extensive time on masking and sealing procedures. The system provides a safer working environment, particularly important when working with solutions in confined naval spaces. Simple protection becomes sufficient rather than extensive coverage requirements.
Custom Anode Solutions
Beyond the standard systems, we provide custom anodes tailored for specific surface requirements. Our concave Leak Free Shaft anodes and convex O-ring surface anodes can be designed for unique diameters, with custom anode sets manufactured within one week.
American Manufacturing Advantage
As an American company based in New Hampshire, we provide domestic manufacturing and support. Our CAGE code (9ULW6) and NAICS classifications (332813, 333243, 335311, 333248, 33661) support government contracting requirements.
Naval Support Services
Our support services are designed to meet naval operational requirements.
After-Sale Support provides technical assistance from specialists with naval electroplating experience, including warranty coverage for manufacturing defects and performance issues, system diagnostics capabilities, and remote support for immediate assistance.
Maintenance Services include preventive maintenance programs, component replacement for system parts, performance optimization guidance, and field maintenance support when required for naval installations.
Training Programs cover comprehensive operator instruction based on naval electroplating experience, safety protocols for naval environments, and application techniques for various materials and geometries. Training can be customized for naval facilities.
Proven Naval Heritage
Our technology addresses the real-world challenges identified during years of naval shipyard operations. The founder's experience training the workforce for Virginia class submarines and developing tools for the electroplating department provides the foundation for our naval-focused solutions.
