Commercial Marine Repair
Civilian Ship Electroplating Operations
Civilian shipping operations require electroplating process that maintain vessel availability while addressing the challenging conditions of marine environments. ElectroplatingUSA's Leak Free® Brush Electroplating Systems provide commercial vessel operators with portable technology designed to minimize port time and deliver reliable electroplating results for marine equipment maintenance.
Commercial Marine Technology
Marine environments present unique challenges for electroplating operations including saltwater exposure effects, limited workspace on vessels, and the need for portable solutions that prevent contamination of vessel systems. Our Leak Free® technology addresses these challenges through portable design suitable for various vessel types and completely contained operation that prevents contamination of cargo spaces or navigation equipment.
The patented system (US 11,352,710 B2) eliminates traditional problems where solution leakage could contaminate marine environments or damage sensitive vessel systems.
Civilian Vessel System Options
Our three system configurations provide flexibility for different civilian vessel maintenance requirements; ElectroplatingUSA offers three different sizes of Leak Free® Brush Plating Systems to meet various requirements. The Ultima model accommodates up to six different plating solutions, weighing just 35 lb. and compact enough to fit through tight spaces such as submarine hatches. The Noble model supports two plating solutions and weighs only 18 lb., while the Select model handles one plating solution and weighs just 5 lb. All units are encased in heavy-duty rollover Polypropylene watertight, crush-proof cases, ensuring durability and portability and specifically designed to withstand marine environment conditions.
Marine-Safe Operation
The dual-system design provides complete solution containment essential for marine operations. A peristaltic pump delivers solution from the chamber to the anode handle, while a vacuum pump ejector powered by compressed air captures excess solution and returns it to the chamber.
This closed system prevents solution spills that could contaminate marine environments, create slip hazards on vessel decks, or damage sensitive marine equipment and cargo.
Eliminates Marine Preparation Complexity
Traditional marine electroplating requires extensive masking and sealing procedures that are particularly challenging in vessel environments. Our leak-free operation eliminates these time-consuming preparation steps, reducing maintenance time while improving safety for marine personnel.
Commercial vessel crews benefit from simplified procedures that maintain electroplating quality while reducing the complexity traditionally required for shipboard electroplating operations.
Enhanced Marine Safety
Marine operations require strict safety protocols to protect crew members and ensure vessel seaworthiness. Our contained operation addresses marine safety concerns by eliminating solution spills that could create hazards on vessel surfaces, containing vapor emissions that could affect crew in confined vessel spaces, and reducing fire hazards through elimination of vapor accumulation.
The technology is particularly beneficial for overhead work on vessels where traditional methods require extensive protective measures and cleanup procedures.
Custom Marine Anodes
Marine applications often require specialized anode configurations for different component geometries. We provide custom concave Leak Free Shaft anodes and convex O-ring surface anodes designed for specific marine requirements. Custom anode sets can be manufactured within one week to support urgent vessel maintenance schedules.
Shipboard Capability
The portable design enables electroplating work directly on vessels rather than requiring component removal for shore-based operations. This capability reduces vessel port time and eliminates risks associated with removing heavy marine components from ships.
Marine Efficiency Benefits
Commercial vessel operations benefit from maintenance solutions that minimize port time while ensuring complete restoration of equipment capability. Our portable systems enable maintenance during port calls, reducing the need for extended dry dock periods.
The elimination of preparation procedures reduces maintenance time while the contained operation simplifies cleanup, contributing to more efficient marine maintenance operations.
Diverse Marine Applications
The system addresses various civilian vessel maintenance needs including component restoration for marine propulsion systems, corrosion protection for marine environments, and repair work that can be performed without removing components from vessels.
Our experience includes both military and civilian vessel applications, providing understanding of different marine operational requirements and maintenance approaches.
American Marine Manufacturing
As a New Hampshire-based manufacturer, we provide domestic manufacturing and support for American marine operations. Our CAGE code (9ULW6) and NAICS classifications support various marine industry segments.
Marine Heritage Foundation
Our technology was developed with input from extensive naval vessel experience at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where marine electroplating challenges were directly encountered and addressed through innovative solutions. This marine background provides understanding applicable to all civilian vessel operations.
